About Me

In June of 2004, I began the journey that has led to me to this page. I started in a kitchen of a run-down sports dive bar in South Florida. I scrubbed the dishes. The greased splattered all over my apron. All the while I could see the billow of smoke of cigarettes rise past the tiny square windows on the doors the separated me from the real world.  I remembered I would walk out to cool down and feel the energy of the crowd -- the colorful characters and beauty of the drinks.

Within a month, however, I rose to become aserver. Two months later I was a bartender.

In the years that followed, my bar experiences translated into creative inspirations. So much so I traveled back north to NYC to go to film school. Through it all, I remained in the restaurant business. More than a decade a later, my experience ranged from dive bars to fine dining. My food knowledge went from hotdogs to foie gras. And my passion for restaurants exploded.

After years in the film world, I decided to capture the moments of the restaurant world with my trusty cameras. I began taking photos here and there in restaurants and on the streets with my iPhone and with my Canon 7D. Then I started a photo blog. Then an Instagram page. Then I got my first restaurant photography gigs. I did some weddings. I did travel photography.

I began to build a portfolio so large I didn't even realize I had gigs beyond gigs of photographs.

With all the subjects I've shot, my truest, most cherished form has been restaurants and its food and its people. I believe every venue -- both small and large; dingy and pristine -- has its own beauty. And I believe its my job to bring that beauty out.

As a restaurant vet, I aim to give them what they want. I make sure that, in the end, my vision will satisfy theirs.
